EGEO AD 2.20  LOCAL AERODROME REGULATIONS

1  Airport Regulations
  1. Non radio aircraft must obtain PPR via telephone with ATS prior to flight.

  2. Pilots are to contact Oban Information to request start-up clearance.

  3. Except whilst in a vehicle or aircraft, high visibility clothing must be worn airside at all times.

  4. All Crew/Passengers walking from H1 and H2 are required to use the designated walkway to/from the terminal.

  5. Aircraft that do not require the use of a licensed aerodrome and that wish to operate outside the notified hours of operation, must comply with the Argyll and Bute Council Out of Hours Indemnity Scheme. PPR applies to ALL out of hours flights and must be obtained within operating hours, from the aerodrome operator (Argyll and Bute Council, c/o Oban Airport) prior to flight. Details of the scheme and an application form can be found at: http://www.obanandtheislesairports.com. Pilot information can be obtained from Oban aerodrome, Tel: 01631-572910.

2  Ground Movement
  1. Marshalling service available on request.

  2. Aircrew are advised to use minimum suitable power whilst manoeuvring on the Main Apron, as the front of the terminal building and personnel can be subject to jet blast and prop wash.

  3. Fuelling only in designated areas.

  4. Follow directional arrows into fuel station parking (yellow hatched area) and only one aircraft at a time.

3  CAT II/III Operations

Not applicable.

4  Warnings
  1. No ground signals except light signals.

  2. Out of hours helicopter activity by Air Ambulance, Police and Coastguard.

  3. Grassed areas are only suitable for use by ‘tail wheel’ aircraft.

  4. During easterly winds, aircraft may encounter wind shear and turbulence on departure and finals.

5  Helicopter Operations
  1. All helicopters are expected to make approaches from, and depart to, the west to minimise environmental impact on airport neighbours, unless weather conditions dictate otherwise.

  2. Rotors running refuel is only available by prior agreement.
